NDIWA MUKELABAI : Relentless
My name is Ndiwa Mukelabai, since leaving Imani School after form 1, I moved to the United Kingdom to continue to my education while at the same time my family moved to the USA (New York). Have divided my time between the two countries ever since, I have been fortunate enough to benefit from growing up on all 3 continents. Each of which has equipped me with a different set of skills, Africa taught me the need to develop my own character and viewpoint while still respect my heritage. In Europe I learnt the importance of forward thinking and execution and the United States of America has shown me that with hard work and dedication anything is possible.
I'm a graduate of Coventry and Middlesex University. The subject that I studied at undergraduate level was Law (LLB) at Coventry and International Economic Law (LLM) at Middlesex University. While studying at Coventry, I was voted the first black president of the law society and was also the youngest ever elected at the age of 19. Since then I have worked for a brokerage in the city of London, and am still harboring ambitions of practicing as an attorney of law in New York City. However the next step of my development will be embarking upon my PhD. I have also learnt the importance of being able to hedge one's bets as shown by the current financial crisis it is not a good idea to put all of one's eggs in the same basket. I am also a director of liq-wid clothing which is a clothing line that is currently under development and hopefully will be in store near you at some point in 2009. |
